The US and UK are reporting mild upticks in COVID-related hospitalizations due to new FLiRT variants. Experts say fluctuations in COVID cases are now the norm, as the disease is not yet seasonal. The United States, United Kingdom and Germany are seeing small surges in COVID-19 cases this summer, with rates of hospitalizations gently on the rise. The latest figures from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show emergency room visits increased more than 23% from June 16 to June 22.
